Residents in the Oxford Road area of west Reading were asked for their views on how a £1.5 million planning-gain cashpot should be spent.
The funding is due to be paid by developer David Wilson Homes as part of the conditions of planning permission for the construction of 434 homes on the site of Battle Hospital in 2006.
David Wilson had originally agreed to contribute the cash towards a new health centre, but local NHS chiefs decided against the plan, so more than 6,000 households are being asked for their ideas on how the money should be spent.
“The little money that we have been offered to our area must be used on community related benefits, last consultation on this matter took place in 2006 or 2007 but It is about time a decision is taken & taken on the current views of local residents.”
