Anticipation is building as the grand opening of Reading Green Park Station draws near, scheduled for Saturday, May 27. This eagerly awaited event marks a significant milestone, as it becomes the first new station to grace the Reading area in over a century since the establishment of Reading West in July 1906. Situated on the Reading to Basingstoke line, the station will operate regular half-hourly services, offering convenient travel options for commuters heading north to Reading or south to Basingstoke throughout the day.

The introduction of Reading Green Park Station holds immense promise, particularly for the local residents and businesses in the Green Park area. It will provide improved and sustainable transportation choices, contributing to a greener and more eco-friendly community. Additionally, the station will cater to fans attending events at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, the proud home of Reading Football Club.

The collaborative efforts of Reading Borough Council, Network Rail, and GWR have resulted in the creation of a state-of-the-art station. The facility boasts two 150m platforms, a modern and fully accessible station building, and an overbridge connecting both platforms via stairs and lifts. To facilitate seamless connectivity, a bus interchange, taxi rank, and cycle parking facilities have also been incorporated into the design. Furthermore, the station encompasses two car parks, featuring 12 designated blue badge spaces, drop-off parking, and long-stay parking options to accommodate daily commuters.

With its comprehensive amenities and strategic location, Reading Green Park Station is set to revolutionize travel experiences for the community. As the opening day approaches, excitement fills the air, and the station stands as a testament to progress and sustainable urban development.
