Lewis Capaldi, the beloved singer of “Someone You Loved,” has made the difficult decision to cancel all upcoming tour dates, including his highly anticipated headlining performance at Reading Festival.
Originally scheduled to headline the Main Stage West on Saturday, August 26, Capaldi regretfully announced that he will no longer be able to fulfill this commitment.
Taking to Twitter, Capaldi shared a heartfelt statement explaining that he will be taking an indefinite break from touring for the sake of his well-being. The decision comes after a challenging experience at Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, where he valiantly performed despite steadily losing his voice. At the conclusion of his emotional set, Capaldi disclosed his plans to take some much-needed time off.
During his Glastonbury performance, Capaldi addressed the crowd, revealing, “I recently took three weeks off just because I’ve been non-stop for the past year, and I wanted to take a little break from my head for my mental health. I wanted to come back and do Glastonbury because it’s such an incredible festival, so I want to thank you all for coming out. I was scared, but you’ve really made me feel at ease, so thank you very much for that.”
Reading Festival organizers are currently working on securing a replacement for Lewis Capaldi’s headlining slot. Stay tuned for their upcoming announcement as they ensure that the festival’s lineup remains unforgettable.
We would like to extend our well wishes to Lewis Capaldi for a speedy recovery.
