The Oracle shopping centre in Reading has announced that it will reopen on 15 June, in line with the latest government guidance.
A range of measures to keep everyone safe have been introduced. These include:
• Introduction of a one-way system
• Extra cleaning
• Live monitoring of footfall to ensure there aren’t too many people in the centre at any one time
• Introduction of queuing when required
• Installation of fixed hand sanitiser stations
• All customer-facing workers to wear protective clothing
• Contactless payment where possible
• Social distancing reminders on signs
The Oracle’s car parks will also be open, though restaurants will remain as takeaway outlets only until further notice.
Oracle general manager Andy Briggs said: “We can’t wait to reopen, and to welcome back our customers.
“We ask that people be patient with us though, as the way we shop is going to be different for a while, and visits might take longer than usual.“
