Countdown to BoomTown Chapter One: The Gathering at Hampshire | 10-14 August 2022

Oh buoy! We’re under way with the countdown to one of the biggest events in nearby.

2018 as a BoomTown virgin, We knew we were in for a treat but what hit me was more dazzling than I could ever have imagined. The four day extravaganza was a trippy around a futiros world with sound systems and drum of bassline, which left me paralysed with a utopian feeling of happiness, accomplishment and of course, inevitable exhaustion.

Matterley Estate in Winchester was transformed into a fantastical pop-up wonderland, complete with twelve eccentric and ornate districts. From TrenchTown to OldTown, Mayfair to the WildWest and even a KidsTown for the little ones, the planning and production of the setting was overflowing with overwhelming creativity, vast attention to detail and an abundance of unexpected surprises. Walking to purchase a breakfast of coffee or hot chocolate with churros one morning, I was greeted by people left right center.

In few weeks we’ll be back, until the last 2 years cancellations I can’t wait to go back there again. The festival attracts 60,000 residents, but the organisers managed to somehow bypass the feeling of crowdedness and congestion. Whether you are more of an uptown girl, or a downtown roller, there was a huge variety of camping spots depending on your preference. Residents were able to float between the stages and tents for the vast majority of the festival..

Suffice to say, we most certainly will be attending the festival next summer, albeit equipped with slightly more sequins and novelty headwear. And of course, a monumental thank you goes out to absolutely everybody involved in organising BoomTown Fair and making it without a doubt the best festival I have attended this summer.
